How will the Ruckus101 Functional Interval Training (FIT) Program Benefit Me?

The unique Ruckus101 FIT Program helps practitioners to:

What is a kettlebell?

A kettlebell is a traditional Russian training tool that has been used since the turn of the century to develop full body conditioning and fitness. Resembling a cannon ball with a handle, the unique shape of the kettlebell allows for optimal positioning of its weight directly above one’s center of mass. This allows users to keep their hands and wrists in neutral alignment, thereby enabling greater endurance and longevity in core lifts. Thuis results in a much higher volume of exercise, thereby enabling its users to achieve greater heights in their fitness goals.

Students participating in Ruckus101’s Beginner Level FIT sessions will learn the kettlebell swing as well as fundamental kettlebell lifts.

Who uses kettlebells?

Kettlebells are used by a variety of people including stay-at-home moms, business professionals, athletes, martial artists, law enforcement, firemen, military, and other people who are looking for a more effective and functional workout.

Is kettlebell training effective for fat loss?

Yes! Kettlebell training can be a very effective way to give your metabolism a boost and burn excess fat.  However, no matter how hard you train, you cannot out work a bad diet.  Effective fat loss is 70% diet and 30% training.

Do you only use kettlebells for your training?

No. We also use suspension trainers, sandbags, battleropes and bodyweight exercises in our programs.

What is a suspension trainer?

The suspension trainer utlized by the Ruckus101 program is a versatile device that helps its users make significant progress in comprehensive bodywheight exercises that build strength, core stability, flexibility, and balance. It loops around a pole and is used for progressive chin-ups, pull-ups, dips, push-up flys, body rows, and more. It was developed by the makers of The Jungle Gym II to adapt to progressive training regimines as its users’ fitness levels improve.

What is unconventional training?

Unconventional Training is defined as nontraditional fitness methods involving kettlebells, sandbags, ropes and other “old school” equipment. Unconventional training methods focus on functional fitness and strength; thus being more efficient than doing hours of cardio.

Will Kettlebells give me big bulky muscles?

One of the key benefits of kettlebell training is that you will get stronger without getting bigger. In addition, the hormone differences between women and men are radically different and therefore women cannot gain muscle like men. Women naturally have much less testosterone than men do, and will therefore not bulk up with large muscles.

Does your body continue to burn calories after doing multi-joint total body exercises?

Yes, studies have shown that multi-joint total body exercises can keep your metabolism elevated for 24 to 48 hours after a workout.  As a result, you will burn more calories throughout the day for everything that you do from sleeping, to driving, to working.
